Simple Test does not support database testing.

Apologies for the delay in the response.

It’s been a while since I have worked with both tools but if I remember correctly it is possible to run both.

Having said that, its been a while since I’ve had to do something like that so, things may of changed since.

When I get some spare time I’ll test this out and update this post.

Could you please explain your sentence, when you speak about SimpleTest:
“Can be used with PHPUnit”?

Does it mean you can integrate existing PHPUnit tests with SimpleTest? If so, how could we handle that?

nice tutorial about integrating simple pie to zend. I consider to use simplepie also for taking a rss feed from another website.

Your totally right, both of those points are extremely helpful when it comes to not just debugging but they also help others to understand what each of the unit tests are doing.

If you don’t mind, I’ll have to add those two points to the post

I agree with your comments, but I’d also add using really descriptive test names and try to keep one assert per test. These two guidelines have reduced my debugging time significantly.
